International Paper's effects on our beaches in 2017
To start 2017, we again see foam, scum and deposits on our beaches from International Papers discharges. There is very little life in the bay. The wetland has done little to help environmental problems on Perdido Bay. IP makes soap from sodium hydroxide used in pulping and fatty acids from pine trees which causes the foam. Instead of decreasing production to help the bay, IP has increased cardboard production. |
